Workshop: Trauma and Care Practices

Examining trauma through a social justice lens, this interactive workshop provides an expanded understanding of trauma beyond PTSD to include complex, multiple losses, sociocultural, intergenerational, and secondary trauma. Exploring trauma through the lens of youth and the lens of youth workers themselves, this workshop explains the common experiences/symptoms of trauma as well as gives participants an opportunity to strategize care practices that can reduce the impact of secondary trauma in their lives.
