How to Propose Content to Summer Matters

August 5, 2016

In order to contribute to the summer matters website, you simply need to complete the submission form below. We will then create your post(s) ourselves. We will also provide you with a contributor account so that you can be contacted by readers or provide updates.

Here is what we will ask for when you propose a guest blog:

  • A few sentences describing your proposed post and a high-level outline (keep in mind that finished blog posts should be between 350-850 words, but can reference larger bodies of work such as research publications)
  • Links to any multimedia that you plan to include
  • A few words about the intended target audience for your blog (for example, superintendents or reform-minded educators)
  • An 80-word bio with details about your role in education or expanded learning
  • A few links to other pieces you’ve written, particularly from academic publications
  • Full disclosure of any commercial interest in any products or services mentioned
  • Your website, Twitter handle and a link to your Facebook page (if you have these)
  • Please note, if your post has appeared elsewhere, we can consider it, but must be informed.

Our Editorial Process

Our team will review your submission internally to ensure it matches our mission, research, and editorial style. We reserve the right to make minor edits to the content as we see fit, but will share those edits with you. If necessary, we may also request that you make revisions. Please note that because of the volume of submissions we receive, we have to say no to some posts. If it does not meet our criteria, we will do our best to let you know why.

That’s it. Fill out the form here, and become a guest contributor today.
